Portfolio manager within Leveraged finance

You will take Ownership of the database on the fund's investments (consistency and integrity) and coordinate the use of data for various internal and external reporting requirements

  • Prepare quarterly reviews on the portfolio and monthly reviews for assets rated C or below
  • Prepare assets valuation / rating process in liaison with the COO team, credit research analysts, RQA, pricing team, valuation committee and external valuation/rating providers
  • Monitor timing of receipt of information / compliance certificates and other borrowers obligations for all portfolio companies
  • Draft mandate waiver and amendment requests for PM to approve
  • Prepare and provide portfolio statistics to external providers
  • Produce weekly deal pipeline reports and team capacity tracker

You will

  • Assist with fund data analytics, portfolio monitoring, portfolio compliance and other compliance checks throughout the investment process
  • Model position sizing and return sensitivities (based on PD/LGD sensitivities)
  • Monitor and track portfolio investment limits and constraints to ensure mandates guidelines are not breached
  • Model, monitor and document portfolio allocations and provide what if scenarios
  • Coordinate data requests and covenant limits for leveraged vehicles
  • Ownership of portfolio modelling, cash-flow analysis and sensitivities
  • Produce portfolio statistics
  • Liaison with the internal teams for FX hedging activities and ensure the FX hedging strategy aligns with client expectations
  • Manage portfolio optimisation including co-investment and syndication activities
  • Contribute to content for internal reporting, white papers and thought leadership on middle market debt
  • Oversee management and performance fee calculations
  • Run pre-trade governance processes including ensuring mandate restrictions are appropriately captured in BlackRock systems
  • Ensuring adherence to the investment process and operational standards including recommending improvements or enhancements to the process

Skills, experience and education:

  • Excellent analytical and data analysis skills, highly numerate, responsive with high attention to detail
  • Experience in leveraged finance or private debt
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
  • Motivated team player and flexible in approach with ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - presents ideas in a clear, concise and constructive manner
  • Ability to prioritise, working to tight deadlines and flexible to meet workload
  • Keen to question, challenge and improve
  • A methodical thinker able to resolve complex issues on a daily basis
  • Strong academic background
  • Fluent in English; other European languages skills considered a plus
