A Global banking group based in London are looking for a Head of Architecture to work on and help lead a $800Million programme to re-design their architectural landscape.

Responsibilities:

  • Guides and drives decisions on the all aspects of IT architecture
  • Leads a team or circa 10 Solutions Architects with a view to grow this team.
  • Ensure alignment of Global Banking
  • Focused on gain the best outcome for the bank, its customers and colleagues
  • Influence and collaborate with stakeholders and business partners, building strong relationships to ensure consensus and influence change outcomes
  • Be innovative, looking to promote and adopt new methods and tools that will improve our end solutions and unlock the potential of our colleagues
  • Create and maintain the Architecture Review pipeline for the department
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behaviour
  • Understand, develop, and drive the architecture for the department in conjunction with the Group's Technology strategy and alignment between Global Banking and Markets and Commercial Banking businesses

Required Skills:

  • University degree (BA) or (BS)
  • The jobholder will have extensive experience in senior architecture roles.
  • Track record in facing off with senior business and IT executives to design and implementing robust architecture solutions.
  • Subject matter expertise in Corporate Banking and Trade Finance would be a distinct advantage.
  • Proven experience of managing global teams, team building and leading through significant organisational change
  • Proven experience in leading complex architecture change and driving modernisation/new technology adoption in a complex financial services environment
  • Senior executive experience designing large multi-project and multi-stakeholder programmes in an international financial institution
  • Track record for successfully completing complex architecture solutions across multiple locations with a distributed team
  • Experience managing in a highly matrixed organization, including multiple reporting lines
  • Proven senior management experience f
  • Strong financial acumen and experience of circa $800M change portfolio's
  • Expert knowledge in architecting and creating roadmaps for Interactive customer and staff services across multiple channels
  • Experience in vendor management and negotiation
