**Commercial Manager - Permanent Opportunity - Competitive Salary **

As a Commercial Manager, you will be providing Commercial Services to meet the needs of the In-Build Programme

You will deal with contracts, contract management and winning new business, taking responsibility for the associated contractual and commercial elements

You will work collaboratively with key functions of the programme including Project Management, cost estimating, finance, procurement, engineering and technical

Responsibilities

  • Manage the commercial aspects of significant business prospects including the related bidding, tender vet and phase review governance aspects
  • Draft and negotiate complex Commercial Agreements working in conjunction with representatives from the legal function
  • Identify commercial frameworks within which the business can successfully and profitably deliver programme commitment to our end customers
  • Generate functional estimates for the commercial support required to successfully deliver programmes and projects
  • Have the lead responsibility for submitting commercial proposals to the Customer in a timely manner ensuring that the commercial proposition is appropriately priced, contracted and drafted
  • Negotiate offers through to Contract Award to lead to commercially viable business
  • Provide commercial support and guidance to the broader project teams, including the interpretation of the contracted requirement
  • Manage commercial aspects of Contracts including Change Proposals
  • Undertake closure of completed contracts, including where appropriate, the negotiation of the final price

Skills and Qualifications

Essentials:

  • Ability to communicate and present to all levels of the business and customer environment
  • Good and broad professional knowledge of commercial principles and practices
  • Business acumen to demonstrate an understanding of the balance of risk and reward in managing long term complex programmes
  • Proven ability to negotiate, prepare and issue sound business contracts
  • Experience of Team Working in a Commercial / Contracts department

Desirables:

  • Qualified to Degree Level in relevant Discipline such as Law, Business Studies or Engineering
  • Knowledge of MOD contracting practices
  • Awareness of Single Source Contract Regulations (SSCR) and AAR Criteria
  • Knowledge of ITAR and export controls
