Buyer - 6 month FTC in Aldershot

Job Title: Buyer
Duration: 6 month FTC with a view of becoming permanent
Salary: Up to £30,000
Hours & Days: Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week
Start date: ASAP

My client who are a global organisation and a leader within their field have a requirement for a Buyer to join them on a 6 month FTC starting ASAP with a view of becoming permanent

This role will report in to the companies Procurement Manager and within the role you will manage supplier relationships and ensure stock availability in order to support sales, whilst ensuring slow moving inventory is not overstocked whilst balancing the needs of the business and customer.

Duties will include

  • Negotiation and management of purchasing contracts, agreements and terms
  • Supplier negotiation
  • Responding to internal stock requests in a timely manner and in line with company strategy
  • Managing supplier open order books
  • Placing and managing POs
  • Maintaining auto-order data, correct lead times, minimum stocks etc where appropriate
  • Supplier reporting and forecasting
  • Facilitating and tracking supplier rebates where appropriate
  • Identifying, analysing and resolving critical shortages
  • Delivery Costa maintenance
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Ensuring appropriate stock levels
  • Achieving company purchasing KPI which are based on stock availability, stock holding, cost saving and payment terms

Core requirements:

  • Display a sense of urgency
  • Understanding of products and their applications, markets and their drivers, customer and their requirements
  • Experience of sourcing within the Far East
  • Demand management
  • Planning, prioritising and organisation skills
  • Communication skills, internally and externally
  • Respect for manufacturer, customer and colleague relations
  • Understand our manufactures capabilities, capacities and priorities and put in place contingency plans where necessary
  • Project management
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to see the wider impact and plan for consequence
  • CIPS qualified, or willing to work towards
