As a result of this, and a number of successful internal promotions, the firm now has a number of roles open at Audit Manager level and is seeking high calibre candidates to join and continue their career upwards with this award winning firm. The job holder will be given the opportunity to work across many different sectors upon arrival, and will also be able to branch out and spent time on non core Audit work too - in order to play a greater role in shaping the firm's future.

Day to day responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of high profile clients across a number of industries.

Being given the opportunity to specialise in marketing a particular area(s) of expertise, with a view to developing niche markets

Providing a high quality service to clients in respect of the preparation and audit of statutory accounts and on occasions, other ad hoc assignments ie due diligence and other diverse projects.

Responsible for reviewing audit and accounts assignments prior to being passed on to Partners.

Managing the audit process, including budgets and timescales, as well as providing commentary on accounts, summarising outstanding points to managers, analytical review, passing file to senior team members for review, and finalise all review points

Ensuring partners review and sign off planning papers, to ensure fieldwork of the audit can start within a timely mannerReviewing and approving budgets and monitoring performance against budgets in conjunction with engagement partnerSetting and agreeing the level of decision making with members of the teamArranging debriefing sessions after each assignment and providing feedback on performance and budget with an explanation of any varianceAssisting with setting targets and objectives for junior staff, as well as on the job training and coaching. Completing job appraisals for staff, assisting in identifying development needs and opportunities General Working with the audit partner in setting and communicating the audit strategy and vision to the audit team Contributing and implement ideas for staff motivation and development Suggesting ideas and concepts for increased marketing opportunities with existing clients Participating in Business Development and being involved in related initiatives Having a full awareness of internal contacts services offered by departments across the firm, maximising cross selling opportunities Requirements Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) Experience or working as an Audit Manager (a number of levels open) Solid experience in practice, 50% of which should be relevant audit experience A genuine desire to assist in the shaping of the future of the department of a forward thinking and growing firm. Excellent technical and analytical skills A team worker with strong people management skills Good communication and presentation skills Proven planning and prioritising skills T Experienced in objective setting
