I recruit Risk Management professionals in the Credit Risk, Market Risk and Quantitative Finance areas.
Risk is a very sought after area in financial services to work in after the financial crisis. My advice to candidates looking to get into this space is to have a strong technical background and have plenty of commercial acumen. Risk managers are the front-line defence in stopping banks getting fined and making loses. To succeed in such an area you need be able to work across a diverse pool of stakeholders in the bank and fundamentally understand how risk and the front office interact to achieve positive results.
I started my career within the recruitment industry in 2008, starting of as a Researcher and making my way up to Senior Consultant in 2012 on the Credit Risk desk.
In July 2012 I moved to a small boutique covering risk management and left in January 2013, to join as a senior consultant on the successful Morgan McKinley Risk desk covering all risk asset classes.
