I recruit Marketing, Digital, Communications/PR and Sales Support specialists into Banking and Financial Services.
My major piece of advice for recruitment would be, it is absolutely imperative that as a job seeker you tailor your CV or profile before applying to any role and to spend that extra 10 minutes on your CV before hitting 'submit'.
Remember this is a direct reflection of how you want to be perceived as a candidate, an initial impression if you would, therefore things like font, size of text, layout and content are hugely important. If you use the same approach on all job applications, the return will be less and you will therefore receive less interview requests/calls from recruiters.
Spend time adapting your CV, echoing terminology and language from the job spec and trying to reflect as many of the key attributes that the hiring manager is looking for.
Nine times out of ten, as the recruiter or preferred supplier on a role, I will always receive additional information directly from the business whether it is HR or the hiring manager. They will provide me with key information that the hiring manager wants to see from a profile. These could be key words and phrases, ideal industry backgrounds, years of experience, qualifications etc - if we as recruiters pass this information on, take the time to amend and reflect this important information in your application and coversheet, I can guarantee this will pay off.
I personally recruit across the Banking and Financial Services industry, recruiting all levels of Marketing, Communications and Events professionals.
I started my career in recruitment in October 2011 working for the UK's largest independently owned agency before being headhunted by a Specialist Financial Services Recruitment firm to specialise in Qualified Finance. I joined Morgan McKinley in November 2016 with a focus on Marketing where my remit spans across; Digital, Events, Communications/PR, Graphic Design and Sales Support. The majority of the positions I specialise in are across the top tier Investment, Corporate and Retail Banking space, as well as wider Financial Services clients. This has included; Stock Exchanges, Regulators, Clearing Houses, Brokers. International Banks and the Payments industry.
