A high density of ‘New Media’ businesses paired with centuries-old culture makes Sussex distinguishable from much of the country.
A few team members from our Sussex office outline why they love living and working in the South East of England.
Ruth Skelton - Senior Manager, Accounting & Finance and Office Support
Why I love living in Sussex…“It's got it all: leafy green, relaxing, peaceful countryside galore, but access to the city of London in less than an hour, with the bright light and crazy quirkiness of Brighton on your doorstep too.”
My favourite restaurant is…“For going upmarket and getting all fancy it would have to be Ockenden Manor, an Elizabethan Manor house steeped in history. However, for a night out with my girlfriends, it has to be our local Tapas; La Campana - easy, relaxed and enough food to sink a ship!”
My favourite pub is…“It has to be The Coach and Horses for a lazy Sunday lunch.”
On the weekends…“Wakehurst, Sheffield Park and Nymans to name but a few. Sussex is surrounded by some the most beautiful National Trust gardens in the country, with people coming from far and wide to visit. We love visiting them, it's sometimes the simple things that are the most "fun" plus their cafes do some of the best cake I've ever tasted, and believe me I've tried a LOT of cake.”
Amy Lane - Candidate Consultant, Office Support Recruitment
Why I love living in Sussex…“There are good links to London and Brighton, the countryside isn’t far away, the nightlife is great and there are various shopping destinations right on your doorstep.”
My favourite restaurant is…“Tarana, Turners Hill.”
My favourite pub is…“Goffs Manor, Crawley.”
On the weekends…“You will find me taking the dog for a walk in one of the many country parks.”
Keely Bitout - Consultant, Office Support Recruitment
Why I love living in Sussex…“The seaside is just on my doorstep and London is just a stone’s throw away, so you really get the best of both worlds.”
My favourite restaurant is…“It’s boring but I am a Côte girl, the steak sells me the dream every time.”
My favourite pub is…“The Black Horse in Rottingdean. It’s nice for a quiet drink, sells great food and offers evening entertainment - what more could you want?!”
On the weekends…“I love a good family outing to watch my other half play rugby, finishing the day off with a cheeky wine."
