Morgan McKinley’s Eggcellent Easter Charity Challenge

In the lead up to the Easter period, we set out to collect 500 Easter eggs to be donated to two chosen charities.

Calling on our network to help others

As part of Morgan McKinley’s ongoing CSR initiative - the Morgan McKinley Million - the UK company rallied support internally and called on their extensive client base and partner network to donate chocolate Easter eggs to those less fortunate.

The aim was to collect 500 eggs between the 19th and 27th March, and thanks to the enormous generosity of clients across the country, the target was surpassed. Some were big, some were small, but a grand total of 557 Easter eggs were gathered from various clients and taken to the charities based across London and Guildford, bringing a bit of chocolatey cheer to two deserving causes: Ronald McDonald House and The Halow Project.

Ronald McDonald House provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families while their child is in hospital. The Halow Project is dedicated to creating opportunities for young people with learning disabilities, empowering them to live independent, fulfilled lives and become more involved in their local community.

Sizeable contributions from our generous clients

All 35 clients who took part by donating were put into an Easter draw with the chance of a rather delicious Hotel Chocolat Easter Hamper.

The lucky winners of the chocolatey prize were 3Mobile, who were the name pulled out of the hat. A special mention has to go out to British Gas/Centrica who topped the pile in terms of quantity with a cracking 76 eggs. Other generous donors included Toyota FS, Daikin, Natural Motion, ReThink - Lebara and Pro Unlimited - Blackrock.

Further to the donation of a whole heap of chocolate Easter eggs, Morgan McKinley had an Easter themed day on Thursday 29th March which included an egg and spoon race and a bake sale, with all contributions going to the chosen charities. Demand was high for the various cakes, sweet treats and, in particular, an impressive bakewell tart.

Moving towards the Morgan McKinley Million

Altogether, the #500Eggs campaign and Easter day raised the equivalent of £2,000 for the charities - another significant contribution towards the Morgan McKinley Million.

On a global scale, employees of Morgan McKinley strive to give back to the various communities in which they work and live, improving the lives of others. As an organisation, the ‘Morgan McKinley Million’ challenge has been set in the attempt to contribute the equivalent of one million euros to numerous charities across the world by the end of 2018.
