Morgan McKinley launches Finance; Technology; and Risk & Compliance Global Trends Reports

LONDON 27 June 2013, Leading global recruitment services provider, Morgan McKinley today released its first series of Global Trends Reports providing market intelligence to professional career movers and managers.

The reports cover three markets: Finance; Technology; and Risk & Compliance and were compiled through international research conducted by Morgan McKinley with its consultants in up to nine countries to identify business talent requirements.  The reports span three months of qualitative research, gathering anecdotal evidence and feedback from conversations with industry.

Each report provides an overview of the sector underlining what career movers should expect as well as key hotspots for hiring and drivers for growth.

UK Highlights

  • The Risk & Compliance markets operate quite distinctly driven by anti-money laundering and financial crime. The key to professional success is technical systems know-how and strong regulatory knowledge.
  • The Finance & Accounting market has been slow-moving but pressure is coming from the next generation of accounting professionals. A solid grounding in fundamentals coupled with a broad skill set is expected in this competitive market.
  • For the Technology sector data analytics and data quality are top priorities against a backdrop of pressure to meet regulatory and compliance standards. Successful professionals will need to marry technical skills with project management and development capability.

Chris Leeson, Chief Operations Officer, Morgan McKinley UK said:

“We are very pleased to be launching these three reports with insight on key hiring markets across multiple countries from Europe to Asia.  Risk & Compliance has for some time seen significant levels of demand for new hires, with the regulatory pressures that companies in various industries face.  Despite a recent slowdown, in hiring within Finance & Accounting, it’s inevitable that businesses continue to require skilled finance professionals with the breadth of capabilities to support business growth and compliance.  Technology is a sector with infinite potential – its role in both enabling and innovating means that professionals with the right knowledge base are always in demand.

“These reports cover three very different industry sectors; the common theme is that they are all areas where there is demand from hiring managers.  The reports provide a realistic snapshot of these markets for professionals looking to develop their careers and hiring managers working in these markets.   We have identified key insights to help career movers to stay on the right track.  For employers we have shared our market knowledge to offer guidance and to equip managers with the information they need to secure the best talent for business growth.”

Morgan McKinley’s three Global Trends Reports span H1 2013 and include insight across from Australia, China, France, Hong Kong, Ireland, Japan, Singapore and UK. They are available to download from our website at: www.morganmckinley.co.uk
