Life After Qualification - Careers Event

Kathryn Swan 06.03.2019

‘Life after Qualification’ is an informative event for newly qualified accountants looking to explore their career options. The evening is an opportunity to learn from our guest speakers, as well as recruitment consultants, on how best to capitalise on your qualification. Reaching qualification is a crucial career milestone, so let us help you discover your potential.

Life After Qualification

Our panel of select guest speakers from Practice, Industry and Financial Services will be sharing their journeys, and offering advice. Our speakers will detail how they capitalised on their qualifications to achieve success in their respective fields.

Our speakers include:

Richard Pugh - Associate at Wilson Wright

Richard qualified as an ACA in 2011 at a small firm in Surrey, and after a short time in another local firm, Richard moved to London and joined his current firm in 2014. Here he has progressed rapidly in terms of level and responsibility to his current role as an Associate at Wilson Wright. Richard is a real client advisor- he works very closely with his clients offering highly commercial solutions to maximise their business performance. In addition to his client work, he is also heavily involved with the professional development of his team, and helping  them achieve their career objectives.

Owain Loft - Head of Finance

Having graduated from Oxford, Owain joined the Top 10 firm Smith and Williamson where he qualified in audit before moving into an advisory position. This corporate finance experience was further developed whilst with Gordon Brothers and KPMG and facilitated his first move into industry. Now working as Head of Finance at Mayfair Casino, Owain will offer insights into how to succeed in this fast paced sector.

Natasha Kumar - Reward Analyst at ASOS

Natasha trained and qualified at Ernst & Young where she joined as a Graduate within the Employment Tax & Global Mobility Business. Her broad expertise during her time with EY facilitated her move into In-house where she has been working with Asos for the last year within the tax team. Natasha has had exposure to a number of Senior stakeholders and prominent business members during her role with Asos and is an exemplary example of what a move in-house can do for your commercial skills.

Mayank Kanani - Finance Controller at Neuberger Berman

Mayank completed his ACA qualification at financial services firm UBS, qualifying in 2016. He then stayed at UBS for two further years, developing his investment management expertise working as a Financial Controller. Mayank now works at Neuberger Berman, one of the largest asset management companies in the world.

As well as a Q&A session with the panel, there will be opportunity to speak with recruitment consultants from across Practice, Commerce & Industry and Financial Services.

There will also be plenty of opportunity to network, have some wine and nibbles, and meet some inspiring professionals! Feel free to bring along friends and colleagues who might also benefit from this event.
