In the 4th instalment of our Life After Qualification series, four speakers with differing professional backgrounds informed attendees about what to expect from Newly Qualified interviews.
Last week we held the 4th event in our 'Life After Qualification' series.
It was great to see so many recently and soon to be qualified accountants in attendance who had braved the adverse weather conditions to reach our London office. Their aim? To become better informed about the many options open to them after qualification, and how to improve their chances of success at interview.
We were lucky enough to welcome some thoroughly interesting and engaging speakers, all giving their own advice and perspectives on what they look for in a CV, interview etiquette, how to handle some of the tougher interview questions and much more.
The feedback from the event has been overwhelmingly positive, and it was heartening to see and hear the interest and enthusiasm in the room.
“I want to thank you and Morgan McKinley for such an amazing event! This was a rare opportunity for me to hear what people 'from the other side of the table' think about the interview process and how they experience it. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening and hope to hear about similar events in the future.”
“Just wanted to say thanks a lot for putting on yesterday's event. The speakers were all really engaging and interesting.”
“I really enjoyed the evening, it was great to get insight into the thoughts and experiences of others, including Matt as a recently interviewing NQ. It was also good to hear the expectations we all have in common.”
Many thanks to our fantastic speakers for giving up their time and making it an entertaining and engaging event: Isla MacGillivray, Senior Manager on TV and Film team at Saffery Champness, Irene O'Neill, Head of Reporting and Analysis at BT, Owei Soroh, Outsourcing Manager at Silver Levene and Matthew English, Audit Senior at Wilson Wright. A special thank you to Tom Wood for hosting.
