As many of you may already be aware, my wife Marie and I became proud parents to a gorgeous baby girl on 2nd March 2016.
It would be something of an understatement to say she took us by surprise: due to complications in Marie's pregnancy, Lily arrived by emergency C-section, 15 weeks premature, and weighing in at a mind-boggling 1lb 1oz (or 495g). She spent the first six months of her life in St George’s Hospital, Tooting, fighting for her life under the exceptional care of their neo-natal Unit. After some challenging months, Lily finally came home to us on 5th September and I am pleased to report she is going from strength to strength.

In support of World Prematurity Day on 17th November, Marie and I are fundraising for Bliss and First Touch charities. Bliss is a national charity supporting sick and premature babies and their families across the UK and happens to have been nominated as Morgan McKinley’s charity for 2016. First Touch is the charity that specifically supports the NNU (neo-natal unit) at St Georges Hospital in Tooting.
As part of our fundraising efforts, we have organised a charity raffle and online auction. The draw for the raffle will take place on the evening of Thursday 17th November and the auction will close on Sunday 20th November.
All funds raised will go directly to our charities.
