2018 proved to be a game of two halves for permanent accounting and finance commerce recruitment, with the first six months experiencing acute highs and lows, followed by an increasingly buoyant latter half of the year. Across the London finance interim market, 2018 was also a mixed year.
Transactional finance recruitment in the Home Counties remained stable and somewhat static throughout 2018. Job take statistics were pretty constant but there was a decrease in the overall amount of jobs being filled when compared to the previous twelve months.
Recruitment of accounting and finance professionals into commerce and industry across the South West was consistent in 2018, with the technology sector continuing its rapid growth and increased hiring in other sectors too.
As part of compiling the 2019 Morgan McKinley salary guides, 2,400 active UK based professionals and employers were surveyed to gain an insight into their varying views of employment.
