Operational Risk Analyst

A leading Investment Bank has opened up a new and exciting vacancy based inCanaryWharflooking for an Operational Risk manager. You will undertake a 3 month contract role starting as soon as possible. You will be part of Operations which are a global function within the bank providing transaction management and settlement services across all asset classes to the businesses. You will need good communication skills, great interpersonal skills and an excellent team player.

Role/Responsibilities

- Monitor operational risk across Global Finance, review procedures for monitoring, and provide guidance where appropriate.

- Operations are a global function within the bank providing transaction management and settlement services across all asset classes to the businesses.

- Conduct review of Risk Contract Assessment results work with the line to review results and challenge feedback

- Perform risk assessment analytics on Risk Contract Assessment and investigate into red and amber issues to ensure transparency and oversight to Senior Management

- Provide assistance on collation of Risk Contract Assessments, document findings and summarise feedback

- Maintain gap and issues log and track remediation progress

Skills

- Experience implementing Operational Risk in a Finance function essential.

- Financial services sector experience preferred.

- Strong business writing skills with the ability to present complex and sensitive issues to management in a persuasive manner.

- Experience of operational risk and permanent control or SOX framework development or production management in a large investment bank, ideally in a risk department

- Good derivative product knowledge is important as well as an understanding of the risks involved in these activities.

- Minimum degree level academic qualification or equivalent

- Investment Banking Product skills preferred

- Good working skills on Power Point & Excel

- The ability to evaluate risks and mitigations
