Job Description
A new role has opened in a prestigious Asset Management as an ABS Credit Analyst. You will assist in objective to outperform via completion of ABS/Structured Finance credit analysis consistent with internal processes. You will need good understanding of ABS, experience of bonds and property/real estate would be desirable. You will need good communication skills, great interpersonal skills and an excellent team player.
Key Responsibilities
- Products covered include: ABS, RMBS, CMBS, MBS, Student Loans, Credit Cards
- Participate in investment process
- Formulate and communicate well-supported investment recommendations including fundamentals, technicals and relative value at an issue and issuer level
- Build and maintain relationships with sell-side, agency etc analysts
- Document recommendations in easy to access location
- Maintain excellent global sector and issuer knowledge
- Circulate and provide analysis of newsflow
- Complete and update proprietary surveillance spreadsheets including the Asset Management ABS Credit Scores
- Produce the Asset Management Credit Reviews for new issues and as appropriate
- Complete and circulate weekly ABS Focus Notes and participate in ABS Focus Meeting
- Anticipate risks and opportunities that may influence performance
- Produce cashflow models and subsequent analysis as appropriate
- Engage in thematic and ad hoc credit research
- Support of and involvement in client presentations
- Ideas generation (broad remit) e.g. new funds, new analytical approaches, answering client queries
- Engage in semi-annual appraisal process
- Transfer knowledge within the research team when working cross-sector and intra-ABS team
- Familiarisation with relevant performance attribution reports
- Awareness of portfolio positioning
- Attend company visits and conferences as necessary
- Keep abreast of and take into account significant changes in rating agency methodologies
- Maintain the Asset Management Credit Portal
Skills Required
- Degree level or equivalent
- Good understanding of: ABS, RMBS, CMBS, MBS, Student Loans, Credit Cards
- Good knowledge of property and bonds are desirable
- Excellent analytical skills converted into clear recommendations
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Bloomberg, ABSxchange
