Job Description
Small yet growing media agency (advertising) recently launched in the UK, forming part of an established, award-winning US agency, is currently seeking a Finance Manager (Sole Role) /Company Accountant to manage all aspects of the Accounts Function.
The London office opened in Jan 2011 in order to build on the success of the US agency, both to offer multi-national clients a broader service offering, but also to create a unique stand alone business able to attract its own client base here in London. Since starting, the client base, and growth for the UK office has been outstanding.
The business is growing very quickly, and the Finance Manager needs to be able to both take a pragmatic and hands on approach towards being involved in many diverse areas of the business, but also be able to adapt and potentially build a bigger finance / admin department as the business grows.
Responsibilities:-
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management reports to the partners, including detailed variance analysis and commentary
- Undertake annual budgeting, and bi-monthly re-forecasting process using excel.
-Prepare and update a monthly 12-month rolling cash forecast, and also maintain a detailed day-by-day monthly cash forecast for the current month.
-Enter all payable invoices into accounting system and arrange payment via BACS or Cheque
-Enter all Receivables invoices into accounting system and chase payment
-Maintain asset register
-Month end accounting processes, (depreciation, accruals, prepayments etc)
-Responsibility for preparation of year-end Audit file, liaison with auditors, and management of Audit process, preparation of full Financial Statements.
-Liaison with external payroll provider to ensure correct payroll payments are made, and annual returns to HMRC are made.
-Employee timesheet admin and calculation of internal project recharges
-Maintain banking relationships with HSBC, open / close accounts, credit card admin.
-Computer purchase, replacement, maintenance issues & stationary ordering/office supplies
- Relationships with medical care and pension benefit providers.
Requirements: -
- Previous experience and the ability to analyse profitability, report on variances and manage the budgeting and forecasting process
-Experience of working in a top to bottom role, including management and financial accounts, year end audit and strong cashflow forecasting skills
-Strong excel skills - Able to analyse and summarise budget and cost monitoring data into an easily readable format using excel
- Must be ACCA/CIMA (or equiv) part qualified
- Experience of ad-hoc reporting and project based work, liaising with Directors & non-finance
-Able to relate to business dynamics of a small/medium sized creative business- must be capable of working in a sole finance role until the team grows
- Self-starter: Someone able to organise their own time, prioritise and take initiative for actions.
