Job Description

This leading international banking group has a vacancy for a Tax Manager to join their Group Tax team in a Front Office facing tax position. The candidate will join the team responsible for providing tax advisory support to the traders in the Wholesale Bank with a particulars focus on ongoing transactions and their financial markets activities (Capital Markets, Structured Products and Trading in Fixed Income, Commodities and Equities).

Roles/Responsibilities

In addition, the role involves taking responsibility for identifying and executing tax planning initiatives that would facilitate effective management of the Group effective tax rate.

  • Provide business tax support to the Financial Markets business to obtain tax efficient business structuring and planning
  • Establishing and documenting procedures to mitigate or eliminate business tax risk identified and ensure the assurance guidance is implemented through the Financial Markets Business.
  • Coordinate regular reviews of policy/ guidelines and maintain contemporaneous documentations
  • Provide support to Country Tax Managers in Financial Markets tax risk matters together with external local professional advisors and establish documentation for regulatory and tax reporting
Skills/Experience
  • Professional tax qualification, UK knowledge essential.
  • Good communicator with ready appreciation of business issues.
  • Proven relevant tax experience, preferably with a banking or financial sector bias.
  • Ability to work in a team but having the capacity to function independently.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and eager to learn.
  • Good analytical and interpretative skills.
