Technical Accountant

Our client, a top tier Investment Bank is looking to recruit a qualified accountant with experience of Technical accounting for this role.

Your role sits within the Financial Reporting team which performs 3 functions - Financial Reporting, Global Financial review and Balance Sheet Control. 

Your role would be to support the head of the newly created Legal Entity Control & Data Collation function working alongside the Global Financial Review team. The major functions of the role are:

• Assessing statutory financial reporting requirements prescribed under IFRS.
• Obtaining a high level understanding of the business areas and communicating this through presentations to the senior finance management team.

You will also be responsible for the following:

• Engaging with Group Finance, Investor Relations, Regulators and Analysts to cover any ad hoc queries relating to the Balance Sheet.
• Standardising and documenting the data collection processes, providing details on underlying systems and instruments as well as highlight particular areas of distress in the data e.g. Credit Market Exposures and other Asset Backed instruments.
• Working with the business areas to gain an understanding of the underlying activities and working with the controllers to enrich their various data sets.
• Preparing the balance sheet and analytical reviews for management and Group Finance
